An unreliable battery, an expensive quote and a promotion ask different questions. Name the problem first. Then decide what information would let you keep, repair or replace with confidence.
First, check the backup you would rely on
Review the most recent backup and the data it includes using your device’s instructions. Apple explains where to check the last iCloud backup; Google explains how to inspect Android backup details. A check in My FixIndex records your review. It does not make or verify a backup.
Two decisions, with the numbers visible
All amounts below are hypothetical examples. They are not live offers, repair quotes or predictions.
When a repair only buys time
For an illustrative 24-month plan, assume a €120 installed repair, €15 of immediate extras and a €500 replacement in month nine. That path totals €635. Buying now for €550, with €80 of old-phone proceeds and no later spending, totals €470.
Repair then replace: €635 · Replace now, after proceeds: €470
The nine-month bridge and both plans’ coverage are assumptions, not repair-life evidence. The €550 checkout payment is still needed if the €80 arrives later. The full example shows how changing later spending changes the answer.
The lower headline price can cost more
Two fictional shops list the same new 256GB phone for delivery to Greece. One asks €329 plus €12 delivery; the other asks €339 delivered. The checkout comparison is €341 against €339. A 128GB or refurbished listing needs a separate decision.
€329 + €12 = €341 · €339 + €0 = €339
The €2 difference says nothing about seller quality. Confirm the exact configuration, actual seller, terms and payment before buying. The guide uses a real Samsung configuration with entirely invented offers.
A checked source needs an explanation
The “What changed?” journal separates a source review, a site update and a confirmed change in evidence. Look at what was actually checked and what it means for a decision. A fresh review date alone does not establish that a manufacturer extended support.

Save the phones you look after in My FixIndex with their own checklists and review dates. Your saved choices stay in this browser. An optional calendar download creates a one-time review event; it is not an automatic update service.
